Edward Mei
About
Hi! I'm Edward Mei, a software developer who goes by the pseudonym Dinnyscript.
Many of my past projects are HTML games with a focus on minimalistic graphics and polished game mechanics -
some of them are made with game engines, but the majority are made using vanilla JS with
soundtracks composed by me or my friends. You can view some of my larger projects below, or check out my GitHub for source code and other minor projects.
I'm also an avid competitive programmer, although you probably won't see much of that here.
Personal Projects
Toward
A stylistic day planner for minimalistic keyboard coders/gamers that's optimized for both user and CPU efficiency. The project is very much a work in progress,
although I have been using a prototype version to keep track of homework.
Quadrum
An online multiplayer sandbox game where you play as squares. Build communities, craft items, and take over others to gain power.
Elements
A short game demo about colors that was made with Construct 3 for my game development class. Music composed by Jerry Li, a friend of mine.
Game Jam Submissions
Robber on Rails
A speedrunnable top-down shooter game where you play as a cannon strapped on rails, attempting to infiltrate various bases.
Ranked 1st for gameplay and 3rd for sound in ScoreSpace's SpeedJam #1. Music composed by me.
Shoot n' Split!
A top-down shooter where the objective of the game is to split everything. Rated top 5% overall in the GMTK Game Jam 2021.
Lost at Bee
A side-scrolling game where you play as a bee with the ability to create honeycombs on the fly. Made with GDevelop for the GDevelop Game Jam #1. Music composed by me.
Face Shield
A bullet hell game where the faces of a die manipulate the state of your shield. Made for the GMTK Game Jam 2022.
Note: the game isn't the most playable in terms of difficulty and learning curve;
it's more of a technical trophy as one of the first complete projects I made with WebGL.
